Balancing play and professionalism is a goal shared by many Comm Council members. We are the voice of the college, and we represent all of its students in the Senate of College Councils, but we are more than a legislative body—we are a family, and the best families have fun. Our executive board has recently produced yet another way for members to come together and play: Friday Funday, and it's basically perfection.

FA Week Spotlight: Bharath Chandrasekaran

Bharath Chandrasekaran, Ph.D., joined the CSD faculty in Fall 2010. He received his bachelor's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Sri Ramachandra University, and his master’s degree in Speech Sciences from Purdue University. He completed his Ph.D. in Integrative Neuroscience from Purdue University in 2008 and a postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University in the Communication Neural Systems Research Group and the Auditory Neurosciences Lab.

Dr. Junker is not only a fascinating educator, but a fascinating person as well. Cindy McCreery is an assistant professor of screenwriting in the Radio-Television-Film department. She is a graduate of the Walt Disney/ABC Feature Writing Fellowship program. McCreery has sold feature projects to New Line Cinema, Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, National Geographic Films, Warner Brothers, and MGM. She has also optioned projects to several production companies including Radar Pictures, Mike Tollin Productions, Unique Entertainment, and Broken Road Entertainment. FA Week Spotlight: Chase Quarterman

Chase Quarterman is the instructor of J319 The Principles of Graphic Design, a course in the School of Journalism. He earned a B.S. in Graphic Design from Mississippi College in 2003 and a M.A. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. For the past 10 years Quarterman has worked in the fields of design, art, advertising, and illustration. His paintings have been collected internationally, most recently by the Mississippi Museum of Art. He also teaches courses in design and art direction at the Art Institute of Austin.
