CAREER & ALUMNI RELATIONS
chair: Brittany Dye
major: corporate communication, junior
The Career and Alumni Relations Committee (CAR) connects current students with alumni, and internship and career opportunities. We work with Communication Career Services (CCS) to keep students informed and prepared for life after UT. Our goal is to strengthen the relationship with our college’s alumni (through fun events like tailgates), and prepare students for post-graduation through résumé-building workshops and a professional lecture series.

FUNDING
major: RTF, freshman
The goal of Funding is to raise as much money for Communication Council as possible so we can continue serving the college through our events and general operations in new and exciting ways. Some ways we achieve this are through profit-shares with nearby eateries, selling College of Communication T-shirts and other fun activities.
chair: Caleb Fox
MULTIMEDIA
major: photojournalism, third-year
The Multimedia Committee does just what you think. We use multiple forms of media to communicate with the college and the community, which include: this website (including the blog), Twitter, Facebook and YouTube (yes, videos). We also attempt to preserve the memories council creates together via production/design of a digital scrapbook.
PUBLICITY
chair: Hunter Ellenbarger
major: advertising, second-year
In Publicity we will creatively design eye-catching flyers, banners and videos to ensure that all communication students are aware of our events and services. Our work spans across all seven of the other committees, as we use various forms of media to promote their events and draw in large audiences. Publicity is also a wonderful opportunity to not only help the college but to flex your creative muscles, as well!
chair: Elizabeth Rives
SPECIAL EVENTS
major: communication sciences and disorders, second-year
The Special Events Committee (Special E) is one that showcases the students of the college and fosters opportunities for community involvement. We host several events throughout the year, including ARTiculate (art show of student work), Longhorn School Bus (outreach program), Longhorn Halloween (safe Halloween program) and many others. Special E gives the students a chance to use their unique talents, whatever they may be, for the good of the college, university and community.
chair: Ashley Bingham
STUDENT/FACULTY RELATIONS
major: public relations, sophomore
The main goal of the Student/Faculty Relations Committee (StuFac) is to create relationships between students and faculty of the college, including the deans and professors. We put on events like “Donuts with the Deans” and “Meet the Professor Night,” where students can interact with their educators outside of the usual classroom setting. Through these activities and comfortable settings (and others), students are encouraged to get to know the professors on a more personal level.
chair: Jannah Deis
STUDENT ISSUES & ADVISORY
major: corporate communication, sophomore
The Student Issues and Advisory Committee (SIAC) is the liaison between the students and faculty/staff of the college. We work directly with the deans and department chairs to solve issues and make lasting change. SIAC strives to make an impact by finding out what the students want through venues such as Town Hall and a college-wide survey.
chair: Mary Rose Wiley
STUDENT OUTREACH
major: advertising, sophomore
The Student Outreach Committee (SOC) establishes relationships between students and the college. We host exciting events such as “COMM Get Your Act On” (college-wide talent show) in the fall and honor our graduates with “Senior Celebration” in the spring. You can find us in the morning handing out free food to students on the comm plaza and at night sneaking into The Daily Texan office and RTF labs giving snacks to students studying late. Through our events we hope to make the college a close-knit community
that celebrates our unique spirit and accomplishments.
